When the trades don't blow, A/C is a treat

Maui Rentals with Air Conditioning

Central, Split-Ductless, or Window units - take your pick

When the trades don't blow Air Conditioning is a welcome relief for many in their Maui vacation rental. Most properties these days have split/ductless or central A/C through out the condo. Some still have just window A/C in the bedroom and a few rely strictly on ceiling fans and those great Maui breezes. The properties below all have A/C of some sort.  You can narrow your search using the filters on the left.

Do I Need Air Conditioning on Maui?

Simple answer - No - most of the time... But when the trades don't blow and it's humid, which happens more frequently in July-August, it can be a welcome relief.  If you or your family sleeps better in cooler temps, be sure to check out the type of Air Conditioning a condo you are interested in renting has.

Remember only 15% of Maui's power grid is supplied by those windmills you see.  Energy is very expensive and your condo is relatively small so please be considerate an turn off the AC when you leave the condo.  It only takes about 15 min to cool down once you return. Don't run Air Conditioning when you also have doors and windows open. It's not only wasteful but many installations do not allow operation if you leave a lanai slider or even a window open.  Usually there is no need to set the thermostat below 72 at night and 76 during the day.  If you have a split-ductless unit near a ceiling fan, don't run the fan (or only on low) as blowing cold air back into the unit will cause it to shut down before the rest of the room reaches your comfort area.
