Our Stay in Maui

"Condo was beautiful, super clean and was an excellent experience. We couldn't of asked for anything better. The ground floor was excellent as we had easy access to the lawn area and pool out front. Additionally the air conditioning throughout was real nice, especially in the bedroom, which allowed for a nice peaceful sleep. If you want a top notch condo in Kihei, this is the place."

Perfect Stay in Paradise!

"The title says it all. This place is amazing. It has everything you need and even things you didn't know you needed. We really liked that the location was in the back of the complex away from any traffic noise. The entire place was spotless and we really appreciated the starter soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The furniture and bed was extremely comfortable. The AC is an added bonus although with the trade winds blowing, we really didn't need it. The location is perfect for walking to a lot of great restaurants and the beach. Kathy and Leo were great with the communication and always available to answer any questions. Can't wait to book again for next fall."

Location is Peaceful and Quiet

"We were searching for an accommodation that will give us a sense of ease and Leo and Kathy's condo at Kihei Akahi was exactly that. To start, the place is clean and very organized. It was well-equipped with items that we needed both when we stayed in and when we wanted to explore the island and/or go to the beach. The beach equipment (beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, etc.) and the hand-held vacuum were frequently utilized during our trip. The location itself was peaceful and quiet, and was walking distance to the beaches, restaurants, shops, etc. I most especially appreciated the A/C units that were present both in the bedroom and in the main area -- there was also a large ceiling fan in the bedroom. As for the hosts' communication, they were very kind and responsive, and the information we received were useful and easy to follow."

Fantastic Stay!

"We had a fantastic stay at Kathy & Leo's condo. It had all the amenities of home, everything we needed. So great to use their beach chairs everyday, it made it so helpful that we didn't have to buy some for a week. We loved being on the main level and it is a short walk to the pool/bbq area from our condo. So convenient as we bbq'd most evenings and had a dip in the pool. Kathy and Leo communicated promptly with us with the few questions we had. I'd definitely recommend staying at their Maui condo."

"Aloha! A beautiful little oasis, nicely decorated, clean and great amenities in the suite for cooking. They even have chairs an umbrella and a cooler for the beach. We loved being on the ground floor cause the chickens would always be walking by. The location is perfect, walking distance to so many things and a 3 minute walk down the driveway to the beach. Great location and everything you need to feel at home.

"The location is wonderful, just across the street to the beach. The kitchen and bathroom were just remodelled and are lovely. There are air conditioners in the living room and bedroom, but the weather was so good that I didn't need to use it when the sliding door and front doors were open. I loved the fresh breeze. I felt completely safe as a solo traveler. There are two swimming pools in the beautifully landscaped grounds. On a day that you just want to chill and have dinner on the patio, you can see the beautiful after glow of the sunset from the patio. I really enjoyed my stay and the communication with the hosts was very easy. "

My fiance and I were only a short walk away from the beach and the rental provided us with everything we needed. The rental had a kitchen for cooking meals and a washer and dryer for our week long stay. We were also driving distance from all of the popular spots. "I absolutely love Kathy & Leo's condo at Kihei Akahi. Ground floor so very easy to come and go. Beautifully remodeled kitchen and bathroom. The D building is very private yet easy walk to restaurants, shopping and right across from one of the best beach in my opinion. Even better was the split AC system which was wonderful as it was quite warm while I was there. Kathy & Leo were attentive hosts before and during my stay. "I highly recommend staying at Kathy and Leo's place! Kathy and Leo were great communicators following up with us prior to and during our stay. Check-in was very easy and parking was surprisingly close to the Airbnb. The moment we entered the Airbnb, we knew we found a gem of a place! Pictures are very accurate! The renovated kitchen is absolutely beautiful and is fully stocked with ingredients and spices to cook with, an abundance of plates, cups, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, a water filter, and plenty of coffee machines. Everything was in perfect condition. We loved that beach towels, chairs, an umbrella insect repellant and two ice chests (small and large) were also provided! This made trips to the beach and hiking trials so easy! There is also an abundance of cleaning supplies and a hand held vacuum! "

"Booked for a girls week trip and met all expectations and fantastic find! Perfect spot to use as a base as we explored the island! Location away from the main road made it quiet but have great access by car or foot to everything needed. Layout, decor and new renovation gave it a fresh and modern place to stay! Attention to details appreciated (motion light in bathroom, labelled remotes, printer available if needed, extra pillows and towels, beach towels, etc) so it's obvious they care! All other occupants were very quiet so didn't have any issue with noise. We had a fantastic time and would easily recommend it to others! "

"Owners put a lot of thought into the details of unit- nothing missing. Walking distance to restaurants/shops and the most perfect Sandy beach! Bedroom is at other end of unit, which was perfect for me. I get up early and have coffee and all that jazz and my daughter was able to sleep in. Owners were a text away if needed. The building their unit was in is at the back of the complex away from the beach. Their unit was very well maintained with two pools and easy parking. The bedroom was a bit dark with no natural light which we didn't expect since it is facing the back and on the ground floor. Otherwise the apartment is very nice and homey. Overall a great experience! "

Three great weeks on Maui at a very pleasant, reasonably priced condo

"Kihei Akahi unit DG 06 turned out to be a good decision on our part. We've been to Maui about 16 times or so and we've stayed in 16 different condos. Some have been very nice, a few have been horrendous. Happily, Leo & Kathy's unit was one of those nice ones. Reasonable price, well appointed and maintained. Everything laid out for your convenience. Being at ground level, you get a nice lanai with a lawn and immediately adjacent to the pool. A shortish walk down the driveway to Kamaole Beach II. "

We started and ended each day sitting on the patio with a lovely garden view! Cannot recommend enough, it was such a dreamy location for our honeymoon! "

It was the perfect location for us.

"Leo and Kathy's place was exactly what the pictures showed. It was the perfect location for us. Close to an ABC store, restaurants, and the beach. The complex was quiet the times we were there (we spent most of the day exploring). We don't have children but the complex is family friendly, has two pools, and lots of trees and flowers to do a botanical tour. The check in process up front was quick and painless. We were giving a parking permit to use during our stay. They have a security guard through out the night. One of the days we were there we forgot to put the parking permit on the dash and woke up with a paper on the car alerting us that the car could be towed. To me, that shows the complex is vigilant and wants to keep the area safe. The kitchen is equip with everything needed, including seasonings. Beach chairs and coolers were available as well. One of my favorite things was the washer and dryer. We came back home with clean clothes. Our other favorite feature was the AC both in the living room and bedroom. We don't like to be hot and it made our stay pleasant and comfortable. Kathy was super responsive and accommodating. We arrived to Maui hours before check in . Not being sure if we were able to kill enough time before checking in I messaged her and asked if an earlier check in was possible. She let me know a guest was checking out that morning but would let me know once she talked to the house keeper. She responded fairly quickly and said we could check in an hour earlier which was much appreciated."

"Excellent stay! The unit is just as pictured. The complex is right across from the beach and nearby good eateries (808 deli, shoreline, Maui seafood, and cinnamon roll place were my favorites). Whalers general has water and other items. The condo is at the top of the hill, but the walk up is not steep. Quiet. The area is not overly populated. Communicative hosts. "

"The condo was perfect. It's location in Kihei was wonderful to access everything the island has to offer. It's a short little walk to a beach to watch the sunset each night. We loved having two A/C units during a hot part of July. That made the stay very comfortable. Everything you need is provided and that takes a lot of the worry out of a relaxing vacation. We LOVED the provided beach equipment. The beach chairs, umbrella, mat, towels and coolers were perfect for beach days. This condo is a perfect place to make memories! "

A WOW place to stay in Maui!!

"We enjoyed our week stay at Kihei Akahi DG06. The accommodations were clean and comfy & the location was convenient to so many things..beaches, eateries, shopping were easily walkable, not far to/from airport & centrally located for our drives to Kaanapali, Lahaina, Road to Hana, & Haleakala Crater. Loved having ceiling fans in the rooms to go along with the A/C. It was nice to find things clearly labeled so we could find what we were looking for. Communication with Kathy & Leo before, during, and after our stay was great!! This is a perfect Maui vacation spot! "

Great location and Great stay

"We stayed in May/June 2022 for a much needed get away after COVID restrictions had cancelled plans for a couple years and this was a great little place to stay. The condo is nice and homey with a pool right outside the lanai but no noise to bother. The beach is right across the road and chairs, coolers and umbrella were provided. Boogie boards we rented just down the road. Shopping, restaurants, markets, all within a short walk. It was a great place and perfect location and we will definitely come again and spread the word. PS - if you book with the owners directly you can avoid a fee. "

Perfect location to stay in Kihei!

"This was our first trip to Maui, so really didknow where to stay on the island. A friend told us to stay in Kihei. They were correct! Fortunately for us, we chose this condo! It is in such a great location, directly accross from Kamaole Beach Park II. It is the perfect centrally located condo. The condo itself has everything you need for your island getaway, beach chairs,umbrella (which trust me you will need every day!), coolers to take to the beach or on your daily excursions. The kitchen is very well stocked, we cooked most of our meals in the condo. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend booking again with Kathy and Leo, they were great hosts!! "

Great location and complex

"My wife and I, along with our 2 young daughters had an amazing time stating at Leo and Kathy's condo at the Akahi. The location of the complex is ideal, right across the street from Kam 2, which is one of the best beaches in Kihei and walking distance from shops, restaurants, ice cream, and all the other required amenities. The unit was well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking during of it stay. The unit location is great for families, being on the main floor allows the kids to play in the grassy area right out the lanai and it's adjacent to the pool so easy to run back and forth if you forgot anything. Leo was proactive in contacting us to see if there was anything we needed and to confirm the unit was as expected. We would definitely stay again! "

The condo is well equipped

"Maui has a lot to offer and this place is in a great location. The condo is well equipped; the A/C works great, has a giant TV, and a really long sofa. But it is on the ground floor... so I kept the curtains closed for privacy. It faces West and picks up a lot of heat from the sun... so I kept the curtains closed in the afternoon as well. You can walk to the ocean for sunsets, as well as several restaurants right next door. But I still feel a car is necessary if you want to explore the island. "

"Leo and Kathy were great. Very communicative and happy to help with anything. While we typically like to stay at the resorts in Maui, they were way too expensive. I must do a shout out for the comfortable bed and pillows as well as the linens. All were great. Also, they had the same sound machine which allowed us to sleep great. "

Beautiful family vacation

"Perfect location. 5 minutes walking from great beach. The property grounds are nicely kept. Easy access to suite. Communication with the owners was excellent (they are extremely responsive and attended to a faulty kettle right away). The suite itself is roomy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I appreciated that there were some basics in the suite that we didn't have to purchase such as olive oil, vinegar, etc. The sofa bed was ok for my 2 young girls to sleep on, but I don't think it would work for adults. The only thing I was missing was a hot tub near the swimming pools. We were there during some stormy weather and this would have been a great option."

"Leo and Kathy were great! Their condo has everything from a cooler, chairs, fully stocked kitchen and AC in both bedroom and living room area! The ground floor was awesome to walk out of and sit on the lanai or walk to the pool. Kam park II is right across the street making it so easy to access without having to drive your vehicle. Would highly recommend staying there again!! "

Amazing location.

"We loved how easy it was to walk to the beach and small shopping center to grab food. The ground level was extremely convenient as we had a small child. We could just open the door and let him run on the grass. "

"We had a great time in this condo. We loved being on the ground floor just steps to the pool. The gardens are beautiful. We did yoga each morning in the grass. Although the weather was hot we never used the AC just kept the air flowing through the open screen doors. The unit is older without any updates (yet?) so the bath and kitchen are original. However everything was in excellent working order and sparkling clean. The bed was very comfy and lots of drawers and closet space. Finally, we have stayed in nearly 100 Airbnb's and Kathy and Leo were the best for communication and information. Mahalo. "

It was also within walking distance to various shops and restaurants and a quick drive to anywhere else. "This place was in the perfect location, it was a 5 min walk to the beach. There kitchen is equipped with all your basic cooking stuff we were able to buy some groceries and make breakfast and dinner . We took our 3 year old son, and the place was located on the main floor, so he was able to run around and explore. This placed was very clean inside and out."

"Kathy & Leo's condo is in a great location in Maui. Across from the beach for swimming, tanning or just watching the sunset. It's also just walking distance to restaurants, or a short drive to many others. Safeway, Foodland and Times grocery stores are not far either. Kathy & Leo provide the things you need to start your stay like coffee for the first morning. Everything you need is in the condo for going to the beach, relaxing on the lani or just taking it easy in the condo. The split A/C system delivers cool air to the living room and the bedroom. To me that is a BIG PLUS. Most condos (like this one) in Hawaii that I have been in only have one AC. Either in the living room or the bedroom. That means you have to get one room freezing to get the other room comfortable. Another plus is that it has a washing machine. I will defiantly will look to stay here again on any future trip to Maui "

"Aloha!! The condo is very close to the beach. Leo and Kathy are quick to respond to your text messages and making sure things are completed before arriving. The condo is at the lowest level(ground level) but the back patio is nice for some outdoor lighting. Comfortable couches, cable tv, internet, etc.. were all working. It was just what my wife and I needed. We enjoyed the walks to see the sunset from our condo. The fonts desk customer service were very nice and explained things pretty well. Kihei has nice beaches and very close to Makena beach which I recommend! I would stay there again if go back to Maui. It's not a very busy location . Thanks Leo and Kathy! Mahalo!! "

"Leo & Kathy's stay at the Kihei Akahi is such an amazing find! Not only is the apartment cute and quaint, there a number of amenities and services that helped us. I also really appreciate the effort into communication to help us with our stay! Kihei Akahi apartment was across from the beach and conveniently situated in a 10 minute walking distance from shops and stores like ABC! Special shout out goes out to the office staff in the front, especially Katie (sorry I forgot how to spell!) she was so nice and helped us navigate all the laws and local car rentals as well as welcome us with the friendliest and most uplifting spirit! Overall our stay is worth 6 stars out of 5 because it made my trip to Maui an absolute paradise! Mahalo,"

"This is a great, well-stocked condo in South Kihei. We are a family of four with two three year olds and we loved the ground-floor location, just a stone's throw from the pool and approzimately 1.5 blocks to great beaches and parks. (Restaurants and shopping is three blocks away) The condo has everything you need and is amazingly functional. The AC unit works quick and efficiently which kept us cool (we're from Alaska so this was important!) Kathy and Leo were kind and very responsive. No regrets about renting this space and we hope to be back! "

"I'm a repeat guest with Kathy & Leo. Why? First, their condo is in the absolutely best location in Maui in my opinion. Across from the beach, walking distance to restaurants, and very close to golf courses. Similar to my last visit, Kathy & Leo go out of their way as hosts to ensure I have the best possible experience. "ori and I stayed at Leo and Kathy's condominium the first two weeks of December 2020. The condo is in a great location with a short walk to Kamaoli beach #2. The grounds are beautiful with many mature native plants that are carefully maintained. The condo is on the first floor with a less then 50 yard walk to the pool and BBQs. The condo is decorated nicely, the bathroom and kitchen are tight, but good for two people. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning kept us cool. Leo was great to work with, a very likable and responsive person. A little updating in the bathroom and kitchen would be a nice added touch. The condominium was a good value, you should not be disappointed. "

Great Vacation!

"The weather was fantastic and the condo was very comfortable (having A/C was great!). The location in Kihei was awesome, we were able to walk to restaurants, bars and stores. There is a great beach called Kamaole II literally across the street where we paddle boarded. All in all, we had a great time here in Maui and loved this condo. I can't wait to come back to the Island! "
