Getting around on Maui:
Alternatives to Renting a Car at the Airport:

- SpeediShuttle: 808-875-8070 Transportation to and from the airport for all parts of Maui.
- Freds's Taxi: 808-357-7663 My favorite airport transport. This recommended resource costs about $70 one way to Kihei area. He can accommodate up to 5 or 6 with luggage. - book ahead (a month or more for airport transport is recommended) to insure availability by calling or email: [email protected] with subject TO (or FROM) AIRPORT TAXI - let him know I sent you
- Uber: For those using the sharing economy, Uber is on Maui!
- Rent a car locally to avoid at least the airport taxes and return it at the airport for a $60 fee - less than the cost of a cab or van to Wailea or Makena - about the same as a cab from Kihei or Ma'alaea to the Airprot (OGG) in Kahului.
