Menehune Shores Unit 416 in Kihei, Maui is a direct ocean and beachfront condo with a 180 degree view of the Pacific and the Maui coast. Bordered by Kalepolepo Park, the Humpback Whale National Marine Center and a popular windsurfing /kite boarding beach on the west; and a desolate open beach perfect for walking for miles, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, spear fishing on the southeast Directly in front of the building is the famous ancient Menehune fishpond.

Due to the unique horseshoe shape of the building the lanai is private, and the view is yours alone to enjoy. The lanai overlooks the ocean, beach , and several islands - Molokini, Kahoolawe, and Lanai. The area known as Maalaea is to the west, Maalaea is home to the Maui Ocean Center. Don't miss the center's living reef exhibit that includes native Hawaiian fish, turtles and sea life; or the glass tunnel that passes through a giant tank that includes sharks. Some of the best boat trips depart from Maalaea Harbor - snorkeling at Molokini, sunset cruises with cocktails and pupu's, and the famous Maui whale watching excursions.

Menehune Shores has a heated pool, a BBQ area next to the beach and another BBQ on the roof. Enjoy shuffleboard and beautiful landscaped grounds. This well maintained property is minutes from restaurants, local Kihei shops, and Maalaea Harbor and Wailea. It is 20 minutes from the airport.

The condo has all the amenities including AC, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, cable television, wireless internet, walk-in shower, multi-stack sliders open direct to the ocean, and recent redecorating. This condo is not just a vacation unit - it's a home, your home away from home. Whatever you need to enjoy the beach and water at Menehune Shores has been provided -boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, snorkel equipment, binoculars, and coolers are in the unit for your use. Enjoy beautiful sunsets over West Maui, watch whales in season and expert windsurfers and kite-boarders race across the water as the afternoon trade winds cool the island. Learn to paddle-board, snorkel and swim off the protected Menehune beach or just lounge in the Hawaiian sun. Rental shops will drop off kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. If you keep the equipment for longer than a day ask for a car rack to store the equipment and/or transport it to other locations.

There are beaches on both sides of the condo that stretch quite a wayon either side. To the left the beach is uninterrupted by buildings for long morning and eventing strolls. There is a breezeway at the elevator that connects the condo to the beach to the left. There's a shower at the end of the breezeway to wash off. The Menehune fishpond has a breakwater and is a great place to learn to stand-up paddle board. The beach to the right of the condo is right in front of the heated pool. The pool is private and you enter via code. There is a waterfront restaurant on the ground floor in the center of the building - great view for lunch and diner, happy hour bar, and the torches are lighted Friday - Sunday.

Menehune Shores Unit 416 is located in Kihei; the southwest shore of Maui. It is the sunniest and driest end of the island. Kihei has 6 miles of beaches with views of Molokini, Kahoolawe, and Lanai islands. Kihei town boasts restaurants, bars, local Kihei shops, including several grocery, a post office and outdoor sports rentals (snorkel, paddleboard, surf, kayak). Maalaea Harbor, located on the north end of Kihei, is the launch site for pleasure boats, whale watching, charter fishing, and other excursions.
Menehune Shores is 20 minutes from the airport.

To all guests, past present and future Maui welcomes you. As do I, the owner of Menehune unit 416. My late husband, Bob, and I have a long history with Hawaii. Bob, as a pilot, spent most of his career flying the Asia route from Hawaii. Together, we've vacationed in Maui, and the neighbor islands for the past 30+ years. We've built a deep connection the islands of Hawaii and provide support when and wherever we can.
In 2017 I retired as an aviation engineer, and we purchased this beautiful oceanfront unit in Menehune Shores. Spending time in Maui is an opportunity to take a step back, relax, and to enjoy this incredible island, its warm people, and caring community. House rules are what you'd expect. I send a condensed version with the "welcome pack" once you book.Examples: Pool has designated hours. Building quiet time is 10 PM - 8AM. No smoking in the unit - only designated area. Register your car at the AOAO office. No laundry hanging on the rails. Low sudsing laundry detergent is provided by ownerAdditionally, the welcome pack includes: info about the condo, things to do, emergency info, pool code, rules, and parking information Request early check-ins or late check-out. Refunds for cancellation

--- If you cancel 45 days prior to arrival you receive 100% deposit refunded
