Sunsets are gorgeous, watching the sun go down behind the ocean and reflect on the telescope behind you, at the top of Haleakala. In the winter, humpback whales are visible from the lanai, breaching and blowing. Every season is beautiful.

Location Info

Hale Kamaole is in a spectacular location, just outside the Wailea resort area and still walkable to anything in Kihei. The beaches across the street are all wonderful for walking, swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding or just sitting. Enjoy sunset from your lanai or wander across the street to Kamaole 3 beach park where many often gather to socialize and relax at the end of the day. Golf is only 10 minutes drive away, but tennis and pickleball are on site. If you're interested in basketball or skateboarding these are found within Kalama Park, about a 20 minute walk (or 5 min drive) and open to all. You have your choice of restaurants to either drive or walk to, including the popular South Maui Food Gardens with dozens of Food Trucks. And the boat ramp for any outings on the ocean, is just across the street to the south (no worries about parking while you're on the boat). Often the beautiful Green Hawaiian Sea turtles can be seen at the Kamaole beaches or boat ramp beach on shore or while you're swimming. Only 25 minutes from the airport, Hale Kamaole in Kihei is central enough on the island to easily explore everything you're interested in seeing.

About Owner

This unit has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1973 and renovated numerous times through the years. It's a beloved vacation location, so close to gorgeous south maui beaches and activities. We have numerous - all strong and positive - reviews on Airbnb but are tired of the fees, as you probably are too. We look forward to welcoming you to our Kihei paradise.

The unit is best suited for a maximum of 2 adults and one or two children. We have no extra beds available and will not accommodate larger groups.

If you have more in your party please send a message as we know our neighbors and may be able to get you a few units next or near to one another.

HALE KAMAOLE is a generally quiet complex with a mix of residents and vacationers. Quiet hours are from 9pm - 8am. There can be no smoking, of any kind, inside the unit or on the lanai. There are a couple of designated 'smoking areas' by the parking which are the only places smoking is allowed. Smoking is also not allowed on Maui beaches or parks.This is a long term family owned and loved vacation unit. INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES

OFFICE HOURS:

• The office is open 9 AM- 5 PM Monday through Friday, 10 AM – 4 PM Saturday and Sunday.

• The office is closed for lunch between 1 PM and 2 PM daily. The office is closed on Holidays.

• Mail and messages are available in the office.

• The office phone number is 808-879-1221.

• The Maui emergency phone number is 911.

POOL HOURS:

• The pools are open from 8 AM – 9 PM. The lower pool is open for lap swimming and aquatic exercise

from7 AM – 8 AM (which is still during quiet hours).

TENNIS COURT HOURS:

• The tennis courts are open from 8 AM to Dark.

• A sign-up sheet is located at the library next to the tennis court.

• No black soles on shoes and, as with the pool, PLAY IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

LAUNDRY HOURS:

• The laundry is open from 6 AM - 9 PM daily.

• One washer and dryer are available for guest use.

BARBEQUES:

• We have 2 gas grills and 4 charcoal grills in each of our barbeque areas. Lighter fluid is not allowed. Please use

matchlight charcoal only.

LAWN ACTIVITIES:

• Please respect your neighbor and use common sense and courtesy when using the lawn areas.

• NOT ALLOWED anywhere on Hale Kamaole grounds:

- Rollerblading, skateboarding or scooters.

TRASH DISPOSAL:

• There are trash disposal areas with dumpsters located in the parking areas of the complex.

• We recycle HI 5 aluminum cans and HI 5 plastic bottles. All other containers, including glass, go in the

dumpsters.

ENERGY SAVINGS:

• The complex is not insulated so it is of little benefit to run air conditioners when you are out. Please turn off

when leaving for the day.

• Please keep windows closed when you are running the air conditioners to aid in cooling.

SECURITY REMINDER:

• Unfortunately, crime is everywhere, and Maui is not immune.

• Thefts here are rare, BUT when they have occurred, access is usually through the lanai door.

• PLEASE - always lock your lanai and entry doors when leaving or going to bed at night.

Cancellation Policy

We have a FIRM cancellation policy, meaning that if you reserve this unit you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total owed upon booking. The remainder is to be paid 30 days prior to your arrival and no refunds will be made for cancellations after this time.
