"Everything was great. We have always been fans of Maui Sunset and having a ground floor unit was so convenient. It was so easy to just walk out the back door and enjoy all of the amenities. The pool and hot tub were super clean and there was sports equipment for all of the games available for use. The home was well stocked and had everything we needed (beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels, hair dryer, pots, pans, Tupperware, paper products, soaps, etc. Check in and check out were a breeze. We had absolutely no complaints about anything and would love to come back."

Maui Sunset B107- Fantastic 2 week stay!

"We rented Maui Sunset B107 (ground floor) for two weeks in September 2023. Leo and Kathy are excellent hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had all we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The unit is well maintained and very clean! Our hosts offered a complimentary cleaning after the first week and provide fresh towels and supplies. The kitchen is well stocked and it had everything we needed. We loved the spice rack with it's variety of spices. The bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. The AC, fans, kitchen appliances, washer and dryer all work well. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked with hand/body soap, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. The condo is nicely located and we were able to access the beaches, shopping and other excursions easily as we explored the island. Parking was always accessible and easy to use. The sunsets are magical here and around 7:00 pm we were able to watch the turtles come up on the beach for the night. Our hosts provided 4 beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and picnic coolers. These were well used for our beach days. Overall the complex is very clean and quiet. The office staff and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds, pool, hot tub and BBQ's are cleaned and maintained daily. Our family especially enjoyed the pool, hot tub, putting green and shuffle board. We highly recommend Leo and Kathy's Maui Sunset condo Unit B107. We look forward to returning again!"

"Leo and Kathy's airbnb is a wonderful homey stay in a quieter section of Maui, but well located for lots of different activities. The beach is a great place to watch sunset or watch sea turtles come in after sunset (ask someone where to go). They provide everything you need to have a great stay including lawn chairs, towels, and even coolers! Check-in was smooth and Leo and Kathy were great communicators!"

"Our family of three (2 adults and 1 teen) did very well in this one bedroom unit. The pull out sofa was very comfy and the queen bed was also quite comfortable. Having two full baths was a nice plus! The kitchen had everything you might need to cook a meal and to store the leftovers. Access to the pool/hot tub, gym and shuffleboard were easy to find and the facilities are lovely! The beach is only steps away and there are foot baths easily accessible from the beach. This space is stocked with nice extras for beach (two different size coolers, tommy bahama lounge chairs and a beach umbrella). We were able to walk to dinner and found Kihei to be a wonderful home base for our daily adventures. We would be happy to return to Kathy & Leo's if in Maui again."

The condo is beautiful and well appointed, they thought of everything to make sure our stay was perfect, we were pleasantly surprised to have the beach chairs, parasol and towels. Huge bonus!! Washer and dryer was useful during our stay, thanks for the starter pack! The complex is close to everything, Safeway, food trucks, restaurants and easy access to the rest of the island. The location cannot be beat, just a few steps to the ocean, the sunsets are amazing, the view, the community is so friendly, it's extremely safe. We felt at home. BBQ's are available on the premises, they are clean and immaculate. We enjoyed late dinner's on the patio while taking breathless pictures of the sunset. The beach towels are quick dry which was surprising at first but ended up awesome. Really like the ground floor unit for ease of access. We would certainly book again. "This is our 2nd time at Leo & Kathy's condo. The ground floor location is great, and we really like being able to lock/unlock access from the lanai - very handy for quick trips to the bbq or pool. We had very quick response from the owners to replace a blender. They were very accommodating. Wifi was excellent and appreciated access to TV streaming. Another great experience at their condo! "Took my parents to Leo and Kathy's place for a week - we all absolutely loved it. Extremely close (we mainly drove to things but restaurants are also walkable) to restaurants and grocery stores, and the complex itself was great with a short walk to to the beach, and a well kept lawn / turf to relax, work out, or read on. First floor access made it super easy for quick access to the Airbnb and we loved sitting out on the back patio for meals or morning coffee. Another major plus was having 2 bathrooms - made getting ready in the morning so much quicker for all of us. Also the washer and dryer in unit was a huge bonus. Overall great stay, if we are ever back in Maui we will gladly book this spot again."

Wonderful condo in a great location - home away from home!

"We had such a wonderful time - it was our first time visiting Maui, and we couldn't have planned a more central location for our stay! We felt it was the perfect location to be able to drive anywhere we wanted on the island. And bonus that we could see the ocean from the condo, not to mention a very short walk down to see the stunning sunset each night, or walk along the shore at sunrise. The condo was cozy and comfortable - we loved the well stocked kitchen to be able to prep simple meals and save money on eating out. We also spent a ton of time on the lanai - perfect spot to eat meals, read a book, or do a bit of work if needed. The beach chairs and umbrellas were wonderful to have, and we thoroughly enjoyed using them often. I suggest going down to the beach with one of the chairs a couple hours after dark to stargaze - the chairs lean back to be super comfortable, and the sound of the ocean is the perfect backdrop. :) And finally, Leo and Kathy were so welcoming and diligent to check on us. We didn't have any issues at all during our stay, but I am confident if we had, they would have been very responsive and quick to help fix them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us - we can't wait to come back someday!"

They have everything you need!

"The owners were very communicative and have the whole check in process smooth and professional. Pre-emails, directions on how to check in and out were really nice. The place is nicely decorated and cute. They have everything you need from nice towels, chairs, umbrellas etc. Close to restaurants. Maintenance is very good and meticulous. The condo building is quite old and doesn't have much charm. Small bedroom and bathrooms. The beach is fairly steep and the water is rough. It's not our favorite in Maui. We went elsewhere to enjoy our beach time. But the owners did everything in their power to glam up the place and provide nice extras."

Great location with super useful extras and turtles nearby!

"This was a great spot for my family of four and the condo was exactly what we needed and described. Loved that they provide four super nice Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs with multiple pockets including a cooler pocket. These worked so great for us to explore beaches in different parts of Maui. The two different coolers and two beach umbrellas were great to be able to use as well. After our visit in Maui we rented a condo in Kauai that didn't have all of these extras and we really missed having them. Also this is a perfect location in Kihei to see the green sea turtles. During our stay in early June we saw turtles come out of the ocean at around 7:20pm every night to rest on the beach. The spot the turtles rest at is just slightly south of the condo with around five turtles coming up just before the rocky point and another fifteen after the rocky point. So cool to see. "

Right by the beach

"Right by the beach (less than a block) and the location is walkable to main shopping centers. I would suggest renting a car since there are many places to visit on the island. Also keep in mind that since this is by the water, a lot of insects especially gnats are everywhere."

Paradise!!! Perfect condo in the perfect location, Maui Sunset, on the perfect island of Maui

"Maui Sunset has been near and dear to my heart since 1979 when we first went there on a Family Holiday. This unit just enforced my love of Maui and this area. It was clean and fresh and had everything anyone coming for a vacation would need. Check in was very easy. We just had to get the pool/gym keys from the front desk. The front door uses a key pad which is great as you do not have to remember where you put the keys. The parking is free. The grounds are just as well kept as they were back 43 years ago. There are BBQ's if that is what you would like to do. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, utensils and pots and pans. There are three different grocery stores within 5 to 10 minutes drive to buy anything that you need. The owners, Kathy and Leo, are very friendly and extremely helpful should you need any information either about the condo or about the island and things to do. I was very surprised and happy to see a printer that I was able to connect to wirelessly. If you are planning to go to Kihei, Maui, I would highly recommend Kathy and Leo's place. Thank-you."

"Being on the ground level was excellent. Access directly onto the lawn and bbq's and beach was great. Everything in the condo was well organized, clean, and accurate to the photos and description. There were helpful labels and notes on everything - so no questions about remote controls, wifi, keys, etc. There is a printer available for use in the condo - a really nice touch. We would definitely stay in Kathy & Leo's place again!"

"We had a great stay here. Kathy responded quickly to all our questions and accommodated us when we needed a late check out. The apartment was spacious and clean and had useful items like beach chairs and extra towels. The living room faces a nice grassy courtyard which has a pool and grills. We enjoyed sitting on the patio for meals and walking just steps to the beach to watch the sunset. The location is extremely convenient - close to the beaches and shops in Kihei and central for driving to other parts of Maui. The bedroom window faces into the hallway so it is a bit dark and we needed to keep that curtain shut for privacy. But we did not hang out there during the day and neighbors were generally quiet when walking by so it was not a problem. Parking space is not assigned but we never had trouble finding a spot in the lot."

"Leo and Kathy have the cutest little Property in this beautiful, immaculate and meticulously maintained condo! We were pleasantly surprised for the age of the building! They offer the perfect place for a comfortable Stay with all the necessary amenities Including our personal favourites Tommy Bahama beach chairs, coolers and an umbrella; along with many other well thought out items to feel make you feel like you never left home! It's close to the pool, the beach is spectacular for sunset and your only 10 Minutes from some of the best restaurants and bars in Kihei! We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you both for being amazing hosts! We can't wait to return! ( Side note: The Avis kiosk On S. Kihei road was also amazing and a smooth, quick transaction for renting a vehicle if you need one and don't want to rent from the airport! ) one request..... Martini glasses!! "

"I prefer this over hotels because it has everything inside, feels like home. Although we didnt cook much, its all set(even few dozens of different spices). And the laundry and the dryer!!! Beach chairs and a para sol came in real handy. And the printer wired to the wifi also. I would def come back! "Beautiful ground floor condo on the beach just steps from the pool! This unit is close to the office for check in and the parking lot for ease of moving bags . It was immaculate ...even cuter in person Very close to shops and tons of places to eat. My kids are used to white noise and night lights when sleeping and they provide a white noise machine and tons of night lights We'll be back!! We enjoyed all the food trucks in the area Our favorite place to snorkel was just past Makena Beach You can also rent clear bottom kayaks that depart from Mackena beach A local informed us that the big hotels are required to allow public access to the beaches. We recommend going through the Fairmont ! there is snorkel gear available for rent from the concierge by the pool however it was $20 /day We rented from boss frogs You could also go to the ABC store and get some cheap gear Yees fruit stand is just down the road"

Great find!

"Leo & Kathy were extremely helpful and friendly answering my questions even before I booked. The day before my stay they sent info on what to expect when checking in and a bunch of amazing recommendations around the island. You can tell the hosts really care about their space as soon as you walk in, the condo was thoughtfully stocked with plenty of towels, necessities, and beach gear making it feel comfortable and homey like staying at a friend's place. The location is perfect, close to shops and the main section of Kihei, and multiple parks and beaches. The beach out front is by far the main attraction. It was only a 2 minute walk from the condo's lanai and felt like my own private beach and the perfect place to watch the sunset. The pool area in the middle of the complex is great for relaxing and makes the stay feel resort-like. I'd easily stay here again the next time I visit Maui!"

The perfect getaway spot!

"The perfect getaway spot! This place has everything you need and is in a great central location. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shops are only a few blocks up the road. The room is located on the ground floor so it's very convenient if you have a lot of luggage and there was plentiful parking (we were able to park right in front of our room). With a full kitchen and BBQs only steps away from the patio it was easy to cook meals at home. The pool/jacuzzi was a 1 minute walk, and the beach a 2 minute walk. The sun sets right in front of the property so the view from the beach or even the pool is absolutely amazing. We spent most nights watching sunset from the jacuzzi. Great swimming beach out front but there is a lot of coral so I highly recommend bringing water shoes/sandals if you want to swim there. We were able to see turtles just standing on the shore, but we also took advantage of the Blue Hawaiian Activities kiosk at the pool (Holland, the concierge, is amazing!) and rented a kayak through them where we saw lots of turtles only 100 yards out. We also booked several other excursions through them, and we appreciated how convenient it was to book activities right there without having to drive anywhere. The building grounds are incredible, lots of green space for bocce ball, tennis/pickelball courts, putting greens, and shuffleboard. The owners provided tennis rackets and putters and shuffleboard/bocce ball equipment is available at the pool kiosk. The owners also provided beach towels, 4 beach chairs, an umbrella, and 2 coolers which we used daily, so we were very happy to have those amenities to take to the beach. We found ourselves not wanting to go anywhere some days because we enjoyed just relaxing at the pool and the beach. The gym on site was directly across from our room in the other building which was nice because we were able to squeeze in a little workout each morning. Washer/dryer in the unit was a huge bonus as we were able to pack light and do a load of laundry mid week to keep us going. The owners were very helpful in providing us with all the information we needed and then some, even sending us a list of activities and places to go that they enjoy. They also checked in right after we got there to see if we needed anything which we really appreciated. I highly recommend this place for a couples getaway, family getaway, or even just a solo retreat. We can't wait to come back"

"Simple, Clean, Ground level, Easy Communication that enabled me to explore the area due to how simple everything was. Huge benefit of being on the ground floor, did not realize it but being able to park bike, easy access to the well manicured grass and grills made the experience that much easier. Highly recommend."
