We're Laura and David, early retirees who farm lavender, travel the world, garden, and cook. We fell in love with Maui over twenty years ago, and nine years ago we purchased Ekahi 8C as our own home away from home.

Over nine years, we've watched guests return season after season. Some come back annually, year after year. They're no longer just visitors - they're friends who've become part of our extended family. This place has a way of drawing people back because it feels genuine and lived-in, not transactional.

When we're not here, we welcome guests who want what we do: to slow down, connect with a place, and feel at home. We're thoughtful about every detail because we stay here too. The kitchen works for real cooking. The bedding is comfortable. The grounds offer privacy and beauty. The views remind you why place matters. • Vehicle registration at Ekahi office required by next business day
• Display parking permit at all times; failure to display may result in towing at your expense
• Limit: 1 vehicle per unit
• Park only in designated areas
• Speed limit: 15 mph

• No grills or open flames on lanai or balcony (use provided propane grills at oceanfront pavilion)
• Do not spray sunscreen on lanai or sidewalks (spray only in grass; mineral sunscreen requires specialized cleaning)
• Do not hang towels or clothing within sight of other guests
• Keep unit locked at all times; ensure patio sliding door is locked when leaving
• Close all windows and turn off lights, TV, and AC when departing

• No daily housekeeping service provided
• Laundry detergent provided for linens/towels; do not use fabric softener
• Clean lint trap in dryer before and after each use
• Report any maintenance issues immediately by phone, text, or email

• Take trash out every couple of days to prevent sugar ants (common in Maui; attracted to food and organic waste)
• Recycling bins and trash receptacles located under kitchen sink and in parking lot
• Trash/recycling center in parking lot as you walk toward ocean

• Pool hours: 8am–10pm (no lifeguards; use at your own risk)
• Children must be supervised by registered adult at all times
• Shower before entering pools to wash off sand, saltwater, sunscreen
• No diapers in pools unless covered with waterproof pants or swim diaper
• No beach toys, boogie boards, scuba/snorkel equipment, or balls in pools (arm floats OK)
• No diving, running, horseplay, or games like Marco Polo
• No glass in pools (glass allowed in Beach Pavilion only)
• Food only allowed in Beach Pavilion and at dining tables on pool decks
• No individual or group lessons in pools
• Pool furniture may not be reserved or removed; cover with towels when using sunscreen
• Only Ekahi-provided umbrellas allowed in pool areas
