East Maui Vacation Rentals

Rural, wet and natural.

East Maui is renowned for outdoor adventure, stunning black-sand beaches, lush forests, waterfalls and pools. Stretching from the North Shore around the east side to Haleakala state park, it promises history, charm, and an abundance of smiles.

Hana in the northeastern most area on Maui is East Maui's largest town, and is often considered a road trip. It can be accomplished in one or two days depending on how long you want to explore the many sights (amazing water falls, black sand beaches, great hikes, etc.).

The twisty Road to Hana, is peppered with one-lane bridges, waterfalls, amazing scenery, black sand beaches and more. To ease your stress levels and that on the land as well, we encourage you to use a professional guided tour for this trip. It is well worth it.

Is the East Maui region of Hawaii a good place to find a Vacation Rental?

There are some legal bed and breakfast and vacation rentals here but not many. Hotel-Hana is a good option. To experience life here, a bed and breakfast could be a wonderful option as the owner is on site and able to offer a local perspective. Many locals make their home here and not all are pleased to have visitors - especially those who are not respectful of the land. In order to preserve Hawaiian culture, Hana has fought a long and good battle against overdevelopment. Please be considerate.

What cities in East Maui are visited most often?

Hana is East Maui's largest town, and is often considered a road trip. At the end of the 52 mile twisting Road to Hana you are greeted by historical Churches, very local shops, amazing hikes and beautiful beaches in a very rural setting. To do it justice an overnight trip is suggested.

Kipahulu about 10 miles beyond Hana is even more rural. The entrance to the Kiaphulu section of Haleakala National Park begins here. If you can find the church, Chas Lindbergh is also buried here.

At this time we have NO legal vacation rentals available in East Maui. There is one very expensive but special hotel there and many rentals that may not be permitted. Should you have a legal, permitted rental we would love to take a look and if appropriate, add it to our site. Contact Us.
