Aloha! Come share our home-away-from-home, a completely updated, private 1BR/2BA ground floor corner unit in a beautiful ocean front complex. Walk to the beach in 5 minutes without crossing any roads!
We keep our tastefully-appointed home in immaculate condition (don’t take our word for it, check out the pictures! :). The beautiful, enlarged kitchen includes updated appliances, a full-size fridge, and a great stock of cooking equipment. The front and back lanais (off the kitchen/living room and bedroom) are spacious, comfortable, and private…great spots to linger and relax.
Unit 40A is located in one of the quietest spots of Ekahi Village at the top of the greenspace, with views of lush gardens and rolling green lawns. When you are ready for the water, walk around the corner and down through the greenspace lined with beautiful plants and fruit trees to the family pool and ocean.
Swim and run along our sheltered, 2/3 mile beach that is juuuust right for littles of every age. Build sandcastles in the perfect (in our opinion, at least :) sand, or rent some gear and snorkel any of the intermittent lava outcroppings. You can watch whales play offshore from November thru March.
Whenever you’ve had enough, retire to the pool and brand new shaded pavilion, featuring a full kitchen and BBQ area in addition to restrooms and showers. The pavilion also provides an amazing perch over Keawakapu beach to watch the sunset and whales frolicking offshore between November and March.
End your day with a walk back up the greenspace to your unit, which we keep scrupulously cleaned and maintained. We spend a few weeks a year here and stay on top of all maintenance items; if something breaks or goes missing between visits, we will schedule it to be fixed as soon as you notify us.
We provide full linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, portable cooler, drying rack, and beach toys for your enjoyment. There are two flat screen cable TVs, a DVD player, IHome Entertainment centre, and high-speed WiFi. The unit also has a washer/dryer, iron/ironing board, 2 hair dryers, and a propane Weber grill on the spacious lanai kitchen lanai. The living room features a new comfortable queen-sized pullout sectional sofa as well as a recently-installed single wall bed for extra guests.
Kihei and Wailea are on the sunnier, drier south side of Maui; the unit is kept cool through the island breezes and beautiful fans in every room, or ac units in the main living area and bedroom. You can also cool off at the quiet pool just a few steps from the unit.
Protecting health and safety is our primary concern at this time. We have worked with our cleaning and maintenance crews as well as local community officials and other hosts to identify the best practices to protect the health of everyone who has a stake in 40A. These practices include:
- Implementing 24-hour minimum gaps between stays to protect the cleaning personnel and subsequent guests
- Removing non-essential porous items (apologies if the shelves and beds look a little bare :)
- Identifying an environmentally- and human-friendly disinfection agent with superior effectiveness against COVID
- Enhancing cleaning protocols to include disinfecting all tableware and linens in the unit between guests
- Disinfecting all hard surfaces in the unit between guests
Our cleaning team has worked hard to identify and implement all applicable best practices identified by the County of Maui, the CDC, VRBO/Airbnb, and the local hospitality industry. We think you will recognize and appreciate the superior efforts they have made and cleanliness that they have achieved.
