About Makena Surf

Makena Surf's gated resort was built beginning in 1984 on 15 spectacular ocean front acres. It is still private, but not as secluded as it once was. Turtle town is reachable for a good swimmer. The tropical grounds are beautifully planted. Hibiscus flowers, fragrant plumeria trees, ginger, and other island favorites will delight as will the meandering stream, small bridges and private sitting areas.

Located on the nearly 1/2 mile long Po'olenalena Beach (also known as Paipu Beach, Love Beach & Makena Surf Beach), you have easy access, great swimming, and good boogie boarding when the wind is right. The beach is flanked by lava rocks making for wonderful snorkeling.

Near by the Prince or Kea Lani Hotels offer fine dining, spas and more. The Makena golf and tennis facilities are outstanding with 36 holes of golf, a driving range, several tennis courts with pro shop. Located 5 minutes from the shops of Wailea, 10 minutes from grocery shopping in Kihei and 45 minutes from the airport.
